Bow Valley College, a post-secondary partner on this research study, is responsible for the overall coordination, facilitation, and communication between the research team and the community partners of this research study. Bow Valley College is the post-secondary education institution for the Foothills region, and brings relevant programming from multiple colleges and universities to help individuals reach their education and career goals in a meaningful, relevant, and personalized way.
Town of High River
The Town of High River, a community partner on this research study, represents the interests, concerns, and needs of the wider community of High River. The Town of High River, under leadership of the Town Council and Mayor Craig Snodgrass, continues to demonstrate an openness and willingness to engage with all flood recovery and renewal efforts, including this research study and many of our community partners.
Foothills Public School Division
Foothills Public School Division, a community partner on this research study, serves the learning needs of more than 7750 students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve, with the help of over 800 teachers operating in 19 schools, three open campus locations, and three Hutterite Colony schools. Foothills Schools are dedicated to the complete development of children, through academics, athletics, arts, and career and technology instruction. By intellectually engaging learners through healthy relationships, informed by the latest research in education, Foothills ensures the optimal development of all of its students.
Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division
Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division, a community partner on this research study, serves the learning needs of thousands of students and more than 500 teachers in authentic faith based learning opportunities and experiences, and in close partnership with the parish and the family. Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools seek to provide each student with a caring and safe faith based foundation to which they can appreciate the goodness of all creation, meeting the challenges of life with hope and confidence.
Family and Community Support Services
High River Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), a community partner on this research study, is a community resource and support hub, acting as a navigator and connector for individuals and families into the High River community. FCSS offers financial, educational, career and support services, with the goal of promoting and enhancing individual, family, and community well-being.
Parent Link High River
Parent Link Centre High River, a community partner on this research study, is a free support and resource hub for parents of young children, connecting families, parents, and communities. Parent Link High River offers diverse programs designed to foster optimal child development, teach parents positive parenting practices, and to further connect parents to their children through play. Parent Link Centre High River offers drop-in services for any child less than 6 years, craft and learning activities, as well as multiple informational programs designed for parents.
Foothills Community Immigrant Services
Foothills Community Immigrant Services (FCIS), a community partner on this research study, provides extensive and comprehensive integration and settlement services to immigrants, refugees, and community partners through a wide range of programs. FCIS also offers cultural diversity workshops to ensure inclusive, culturally aware, practices are developed and utilized by workplaces, agencies, and community groups.
Alberta Health Services
Alberta Health Services, a community partner on this research study, is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
Hull Services, another community partner on this research study, helps children, adults, and families who experience significant mental health, behavioural, and developmental challenges by providing leading edge and effective behavioural and mental health services. Hull Services is a leader in advocating and engaging others towards realizing a vision of health and well-being.
Rowan House Emergency Shelter/, a community partner on this research study, represents the interests, concerns, and needs of children, youth, and women in the context of domestic abuse in the community. Rowan House Emergency shelter provides rural communities with crisis prevention, long-term support, and education for those affected by family violence.
Hearts & Minds High River
Hearts & Minds High River, a community partner on this research study, is a collaborative venture between Alberta Health Services Community Action Team, students, family, and relevant community professionals. Hearts and Minds offers individual and group counseling to parents, students, and families that are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties either at home or at school. In addition, Hearts and Minds collaborate with school professionals to aid in meeting the needs of each individual student.
