Alex Christison

Co-Lead Research Assistant & Technological Representative

Alex Christison has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Sociology and a minor in Women’s Studies from Mount Royal University. Alex’s areas of interest include the sociology of health and the sociology of law, specifically how each of these areas interact with community development. Alex also works with children and adolescents at Hull Services in Calgary, Alberta.

Emilie Bassi

Co-Lead Research Assistant

Emilie Bassi has a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Sociology from Mount Royal University. Emilie’s areas of interest include environmental sociology, social injustice, economic development and social change, and intersections of gender, race, and social class.  Emilie is currently pursuing a Masters of Science Degree in the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology (REES) at the University of Alberta.

Zachary Cox

Research Assistant & Communications and Public Relations Representative

Zachary Cox has a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Sociology from Mount Royal University. Zachary’s areas of interest include the sociology of disaster and the sociology of environment, with a specific focus on risk mitigation in energy transportation projects.  Zachary is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts Degree in Disaster and Emergency Management at Royal Roads University.

Sylvia Ulatowski

Research Assistant

Sylvia is currently in her fourth year of the Sociology program at Mount Royal University. Sylvia is planning on pursuing her Masters of Counseling Degree next fall. Sylvia’s areas of interest include the sociology of families, social psychology, and qualitative research methods. Sylvia also works with children and adolescents at Hull Services in Calgary, Alberta.

Kathryn Wells

Research Assistant

Kathryn Wells is currently in the third year of the Sociology program at Mount Royal University. Kathryn’s areas of interest include environmental sociology, specifically ecofeminism, and interconnections between gender and race dynamics in interpersonal relationships. Kathryn also works part time for Fortis Alberta.

Kaylea Schwengler

Research Assistant, & Certified Child Care Worker

Kaylea Schwengler is currently in the third year of the Sociology program at Mount Royal University. Kaylea’s areas of interest include the sociology of gender, the sociology of sexualities, the sociology of families, and the sociology of health and illness. Kaylea also works part time with the City of Calgary in the After school Program, and at Peter Lougheed Hospital.

Imogene Roulson

Research Assistant

Imogene Roulson is currently in the second year of the Sociology program at Mount Royal University. Imogene’s areas of interest include the sociology of gender, the sociology of sexuality, the sociology of law, and the sociology of disaster, which a specific focus on child and youth adaptation, recovery and resiliency. Imogene is also a Group Leader with the Peer Diversity Program at Mount Royal University.
